ATTRACTIONS

The house rises high above the rest of Szczawnica’s buildings, offering unobstructed views of the town, the Dunajec River and the Tatra Mountains. You can simply stay on the terrace and watch the clouds drift across the sky, relax in a hammock, unwind in the gazebo, enjoy grilling and pizza baking, warm up in the sauna and hot tub, or play pétanque on the specially prepared boules court.

If you arrive with your dogs, they can run freely on the fenced half-hectare garden. If the weather becomes unpredictable, you will always find a cozy place inside the house. You can read books on the sofa, listen to music, watch movies on the ceiling-mounted projection screen, or play board games at the large family table. Children can also hide under the stairs and freely draw with chalk on the wall.

If you ever feel like exploring beyond the property, just step outside the gate. From the house, it takes about 25 minutes on foot to reach Bacówka Pod Bereśnikiem, and in the opposite direction the same walking time leads to Park Dolny or Plac Dietla in Szczawnica. The house includes maps, guidebooks and local literature. You can also use online maps such as www.mapa-turystyczna.pl — after entering the coordinates 49.4343200, 20.4738400 you can easily see your location relative to official hiking trails and plan your own route.

You will find plenty of inspiration for hiking and cycling trips on websites such as www.gorydlaciebie.pl, rowerempopieninach.pl and pieninyultratrail.pl. If you enjoy mountain biking, bring your own equipment. Our house is cyclist-friendly — the garage includes wooden bike racks with charging options for e-bike batteries.

For attractions related to the Dunajec River, visit www.portpienin.pl and www.flisacy.pl. In winter, you can go skiing at Palenica or Jaworki, or travel to Tatranská Lomnica or Zakopane — both just over an hour’s drive away.

For more information about activities in the area, we also recommend visiting the Pieniny National Park website www.piepn.gov.pl. If you are interested in organized trips to more distant destinations in the region, on both sides of the border, visit the local travel agency website www.szewczyktravel.pl.

Among local attractions, it is impossible not to mention the unique jazz club Muzyczna Owczarnia in Jaworki — a place where music lovers travel from all over Poland. We will also be happy to help and recommend what is worth seeing and doing during your stay in Szczawnica.
